Upscale Images to 4K with AI

Enlarge photos, product shots, illustrations, and AI art by 1×, 2×, or 4×. See the exact output size and credit cost before you run.

Upscale your image

TOPAZ · KIE

Upload once, choose a real Topaz factor, and inspect the result at its actual output dimensions.

From 10 credits · failed jobs are refunded
Upscale factor

2× doubles both width and height—useful when the source is already medium-sized.

Input

Expected output

Price before you run

Only upload images you own or can edit. The source is sent to KIE for Topaz processing; failed jobs are refunded.

Your larger result will appear here

Upload an image to preview its exact 1×, 2×, or 4× output dimensions before sending a paid task.

Free-account results are public and may be selected for the Gallery. A paid purchase makes results on your account private.

A result you can verify

More useful than simply stretching pixels

AI upscaling can create a cleaner large-format image, but the result still needs inspection. This workflow exposes the numbers and the image instead of hiding them behind a promise.

More than a resize

Topaz analyzes the source and reconstructs plausible detail for a larger canvas rather than only duplicating existing pixels.

Know the result before you run

The workbench shows exact output width, height, factor, source tier, and credit cost before the paid request starts.

Built for the next edit

Compare and download the result, or pass it directly into background removal, text cleanup, or an editable-layer workflow.

Three-step workflow

How to upscale an image online

The same upload, factor, and result path shown here is the path the tool actually runs.

  1. 01

    Upload one supported image

Choose a real JPEG, PNG, or WebP up to 10MB and 8192px per side. The server checks the file signature and dimensions before billing.

  2. 02

    Choose 1×, 2×, or 4×

Verify the calculated output dimensions and the 10, 20, or 40-credit source tier. Invalid outputs over 20,000px are blocked.

  3. 03

    Compare, download, or continue editing

Drag across the before-and-after view, inspect sensitive details, download the real image, or move it into another available tool.

4K without the guesswork

Choose the factor from your target dimensions

A 4× upscale is not automatically a 4K image. 4K usually means roughly 3840 horizontal pixels, while the exact result depends on the source size and aspect ratio.

Dimension formula

output width = input width × factor · output height = input height × factor

FactorExampleBest for
1600×900 → 1600×900Quality enhancement without changing pixel dimensions
1920×1080 → 3840×2160Medium-size sources targeting a larger web or UHD asset
960×540 → 3840×2160Small sources that need a substantial size increase

The output longest side cannot exceed 20,000px. A larger factor creates more pixels, not guaranteed factual detail.

Source-aware checks

What to inspect for each image type

The same model can behave differently on skin, packaging text, old scans, and flat illustration. Review the parts that matter for your use case.

Photos and portraits

Inspect skin, eyes, hair, jewelry, and repeated textures for a natural result rather than assuming a sharper preview is accurate.

Product photos and logos

Check packaging labels, small text, straight edges, brand marks, and color consistency before a listing or campaign goes live.

Old photos and scans

Upscaling can make a scan more usable at larger sizes, but it cannot recover historical detail that was never captured or repair severe physical damage.

Anime, illustration, and AI art

Look closely at line art, character edges, flat color regions, and compression artifacts. This is a general Topaz model, not a dedicated anime model.

Practical outputs

Where a larger image removes a bottleneck

Start from the final placement and calculate backward. The right factor is the smallest one that reaches the dimensions your layout needs.

E-commerce detail images

Enlarge an undersized product image, then verify labels and surfaces before placing it in zoomable product media.

Social, ads, and presentations

Prepare a small source for larger campaign frames, presentation screens, and high-density web placements.

Legacy creative assets

Make an old logo, attachment, scan, or archived campaign image easier to reuse in a modern layout.

Posters and print drafts

Reach a larger pixel canvas before checking physical size, DPI, viewing distance, and the printer's actual requirements.

What AI upscaling does not guarantee

A larger file can look cleaner without becoming a factual reconstruction. Treat the output as an edited image and inspect it at 100%.

  • AI infers plausible detail; it cannot retrieve information that the source never recorded.
  • Tiny text, faces, logos, repeating patterns, and compressed edges may be changed or invented.
  • 1×, 2×, and 4× describe dimension multipliers, not a promise of a particular visual quality or exact 4K format.
  • The KIE source URL may be temporary, so successful results are copied into configured site storage when possible.

FAQ

Image Upscaler FAQ

Direct answers about 4K dimensions, factor choice, pricing, formats, privacy, rights, and what the model can really recover.

Can I upscale an image to 4K?

Yes, when the source dimensions and chosen factor reach the target. For example, 960×540 at 4× or 1920×1080 at 2× produces 3840×2160. The workbench shows the exact result before you run.

Should I choose 2× or 4×?

Choose the smallest factor that reaches your required width and height. 2× usually suits a medium-size source; 4× suits a smaller source. A larger factor does not automatically make inferred detail more accurate.

Does AI upscaling recover real missing detail?

Not reliably. The model reconstructs plausible visual detail from the source. It is not forensic recovery, so inspect faces, words, logos, product labels, and other factual elements.

Which image formats and sizes are supported?

Upload JPEG, PNG, or WebP up to 10MB, at least 32×32px, and no more than 8192px per side. The selected factor must keep the output longest side at or below 20,000px.

How much does one image upscale cost?

The price depends on the source longest side: 10 credits up to 2K, 20 credits up to 4K, and 40 credits up to 8K. The exact price is shown before the button is enabled, and failed tasks are refunded.

Are my source image and result private?

Free-account results follow the site's public-result policy; paid-account tasks are private in the product. KIE receives the source to process it, and configured object storage keeps the source and successful result for task recovery.

Can I use the upscaled result commercially?

The tool does not grant rights to third-party material. You are responsible for having permission to upload the source and for checking the licenses, trademarks, likeness rights, and other rules that apply to your use.

Does this work for anime or AI art?

It can produce a larger version of anime, illustration, and AI art. Check line edges, flat colors, eyes, hands, and compression artifacts carefully; this page uses the general Topaz image-upscale model rather than a dedicated anime model.
