Privacy Policy
How Image to Layers collects, uses, and protects your personal information and uploaded images.
Last updated: 2026-08-22
Effective date: August 22, 2026
Introduction
Image to Layers is an AI service that decomposes an uploaded image into multiple transparent PNG layers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to run the product.
Information We Collect
- Account information — Your email address, display name, and password hash when you register. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your basic profile (name, email, avatar) from that provider.
- Uploaded images — The images you submit for layer decomposition.
- Generated layers — The transparent PNG layers produced from your uploads, stored with your account so you can view and download them later.
- Payment metadata — Order and subscription records such as the plan purchased, amount, and payment status. Payments are handled entirely by our payment providers (Stripe, Creem, PayPal). We never store your card numbers.
- Usage data and cookies — Basic logs (pages visited, features used, IP address, browser type) and cookies that keep you signed in and remember preferences such as language.
How We Use Your Uploaded Images
- Your uploads (and, for AI photo generation, your text prompts) are sent to our AI providers — fal.ai, APIMart, and Evolink — solely to perform the task you requested (layer decomposition, text removal, or photo generation).
- We do not use your images or generated layers to train AI models.
- Your uploaded images are never published. Only generated layers can ever be displayed, and only under the rule below.
- On any paid credit pack or subscription, nothing is published. Your results are private, visible only to you. Buying also makes everything you generated earlier private.
- Results generated with signup credits are marked public. We may display selected ones on this site and in our marketing materials, as set out in our Terms of Service. We publish only results we pick individually — being marked public does not put a result on the site automatically. Buying any pack makes them private again, or you can contact us to request removal.
How We Use Other Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- Manage your credit balance, process purchases, and send order confirmations.
- Send essential account notices such as security alerts and payment receipts.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Task deletion — You can delete any decomposition task from your account at any time. Deleting a task removes the associated uploaded image and generated layers from our storage.
- Account deletion — If you delete your account, we remove your personal data, uploads, and generated layers, except for records we are legally required to keep (such as payment records for tax purposes).
Third Parties We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers needed to run the service:
- AI providers (fal.ai, APIMart, Evolink) — Receive your uploaded images and prompts to run the AI models behind layer decomposition, text removal, and photo generation. Processing is subject to each provider's own privacy terms. The specific models in use are listed in our Terms of Service.
- Payment providers (Stripe, Creem, PayPal) — Handle checkout and billing. They receive the information needed to process your payment.
- OAuth providers (Google, GitHub) — If you choose to sign in with them, they share your basic profile with us.
- Infrastructure providers — Hosting, database, and file-storage vendors that operate under confidentiality obligations.
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies for sign-in sessions and language preference. If we use analytics, it is limited to aggregate, privacy-respecting usage statistics to understand how the service is used. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
Data Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
You may access, update, export, or delete your personal information through your account settings, or by contacting us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, announced through the service.
