- Use a reasonably high-resolution image. More detail at the edges means cleaner cutouts.
- Prefer clear separation between subject and background. Strong contrast and distinct elements decompose better than a busy, low-contrast scene.
- Know the limits. Semi-transparent things (glass, smoke, fine hair, motion blur) and heavily overlapping objects are genuinely hard — no tool separates them perfectly. Results vary with the input; some images simply won't decompose well, and that's expected.
